Dr. Leonie Arnold

Specialised Reproduction Veterinarian

Leonie Arnold is an equine veterinarian at Equiception and a board-certified specialist in equine reproduction (ECAR), with a strong focus on mare fertility and assisted reproductive techniques.

Her passion for working with animals started at an early age. Growing up, she joined her father, a biologist at the University of Veterinary Medicine in Vienna, on field trips, which inspired her to pursue a career in veterinary medicine.

During her studies in Vienna, Leonie discovered her interest in reproduction through an externship at Schönbrunn Zoo in 2018, where she was inspired by the challenges of breeding endangered species. In 2019, she further developed her clinical experience during a three-month externship in a private equine clinic in Normandy, working with French trotters and focusing on neonatology and reproductive emergencies.

After graduating, she completed a rotating internship at the university’s equine clinic, followed by a specialised internship in equine reproduction at Utrecht University.

Leonie continued her training with an ECAR residency at Utrecht University, where she gained extensive experience in embryo transfer, reproductive management, and advanced reproductive technologies within a high-level clinical setting. Alongside her clinical work, she has been actively involved in teaching veterinary students and contributing to research in equine reproduction.

Leonie is driven, organised, and enjoys working in multidisciplinary teams. She is particularly motivated by combining clinical work with scientific development to continuously improve patient care and welfare.

At Equiception, Leonie plays an active role in the daily clinical work, bringing her expertise in equine reproduction and her commitment to high-quality patient care to the team.
